The Rawhide Landscape (RHL)

The Rawhide Landscape (RHL) series is an ever-evolving exploration—an interrogation of landscapes, abstraction, and the very nature of painting itself. These works challenge perception, teasing familiarity yet resisting full comprehension.

At first glance, they may evoke pop art, but look deeper. The layers of meaning extend beyond the immediate visual impact. Each piece strips away the traditional role of the painter—I work exclusively with prefabricated materials, creating a deliberate detachment between the artist and the act of painting. This distance fuels the series, raising questions about authorship, artistic intent, and the landscape as both subject and concept.

The beauty of RHL lies in its contradictions—instantly accessible yet elusive, structured yet raw, recognizable yet ungraspable. It invites you in, only to leave you questioning what you thought you knew.
