Heimat

This is a series rooted in personal memory—an attempt to grasp moments that feel both vivid and distant. These paintings are not precise reconstructions but atmospheric recollections, where time bleeds into itself, and places hold more weight than the people who once occupied them.

Rather than portraying memories realistically, I focus on their essence—the way they feel rather than how they looked. The works are playful in their making yet carry a quiet, sombre undertone, reflecting how childhood memories shift over time, becoming uncertain, muted, and grey. In this process, I work directly and instinctively, letting each painting unfold as an exploration of place and time, rather than the actions that once filled them.

With Heimat, I recall as much as I can—not in detail, but in overall mood, in light and absence.
