The Rawhide Landscape (RHL) series started out in 2016 and is still ongoing. In the landscapes I investigate different layers of questions. The work touches on abstract art as well as landscapes as concept or content of the work. It also questions painting as a medium in art today. In the works I do attempt to distance my role as painter by using only prefabricated materials. I love how the series is instantly readable but not completely understood. It sends the viewer quickly thinking about pop art. Which to some degree might be true but that is not what I feel the work is at its core.
